The 10 day Vichy Liftactiv vitamin C challenge

IMG_3598We all know, that by being a mom it often means that we don’t have that much time for us, read almost never. That also means sometimes skipping some necessary skin care routine, having a really quick lunch by the counter or at my desk, sleeping less then I should really do, not drinking all the water I should be and not doing the weekly exercise I really should ( cause running after the kids don’t count )… and let’s not talk about taking a relaxing bath because I just don’t remember the last time I had one. I know that I should be consistent with those basics but I find it hard sometimes just to keep up.

Vichy Canada recently challenged me to try their new 10 day Lifactiv Vitamin C cure, I of course said ”yes” and I need to admit that I was sceptical at first and was worried that I couldn’t keep up, or have time, or even think about it.

But I did!

The challenge, well the cure in fact was simple and easy to keep up with. I surprisingly didn’t skip a morning or night and kinda was looking forward to that ( yes a quick ) me-time in the morning or night. And you know also what else, I even made myself a fruity herbal tea after my shower, while taking care of my skin. It was totally MY ALONE TIME and I really enjoyed it.

Here are the highlights of the cure as well as what I liked best.

The liftactiv Vitamin C cure:

  1. Brightens: the skin regains its radiance with a more even complexion. I saw the difference from day 1 since I could notice a glow and a more ”soft pink” shade.
  2. Firms: the skin feels tightened, with an instant lifting effect. I felt that my skin definitely  looked more rested, so younger,
  3. Hydrates: the synergy between the fragmented hyaluronic acids from the Liftactiv Vitamin C and the Vichy Mineralizing thermal water allowed for a deep water penetration and retention into skin, for a great hydration effect. My skin didn’t break out at all and felt smooth and soft.

So my daily routine consisted of the following steps:

  • Apply Liftactiv Vitamin C on freshly cleansed skin
  • 1 dab of Mineral 89
  • 1 pump of Liftactiv Serum 10
  • A dab of Liftactiv UV moisturizer

  • 1 dab of Mineral 89
  • 1 dab of Liftactiv Retinol HA
  • 1 dab of Liftactiv Night moisturizer

I found this cure really easy to maintain, even with kids and a really busy schedule, and  felt my skin smoother and tighter after those 10 days, and definitely brighter and saw that glow after a few days.

You really need to try this cure. It is affordable and totally worth it. Just like all the other Vichy cares, it smells so good and you will probably appreciate it’s calming effect on the skin.

So get the cure, make yourself a warm herbal tea, lock the bathroom door and pamper yourself, because after all you are worth it!

Let me know what are your impressions after you 10 day Liftactiv Vitamin C Vichy cure cure.

Good night,

pumpkin spice everything

‘Tis the season.  I love fall because of it’s beautiful weather, it’s gorgeous warm colours, it’s crisp nights and fresh days. But I also love fall because it’s seems to mark the beginning of comfort food, nights beside the fire with a glass of wine and richer food… and let’s talk about pumpkins. I’m like I want to taste everything that had pumpkins as ingredients in… like all of them. So if you do have some favorite recipes to share, I want to try them.

I am sharing with you today 3 of my favorites that I tried and tried and remaking every year.

•1/2 cup vegetable oil

•3 large eggs

•1 to 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

•1 1/2 cups pumpkin pure ( unsweetened )

•3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon plus heaping

•1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

•1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

•1 1/2 teaspoons salt

•1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

•1 3/4 cups + 2 tablespoons all purpose flour

•3 tablespoons cinnamon-sugar

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2.Lightly grease two doughnut pans.

3.Beat together the oil, eggs, sugar, pumpkin, spices, salt, and baking powder until smooth.

4.Add the flour, stirring just until smooth.

5.Fill the wells of the doughnut pans about 3/4 full; use a scant 1/4 cup of batter in each well.

6.Bake the doughnuts for 15 to 18 minutes

7.Remove the doughnuts from the oven, and after about 5 minutes transfer them to a rack to cool.Â

8.While the doughnuts are still warm (but no longer fragile), gently shake them in a bag with the cinnamon-sugar

9.Cool completely, and store (not wrapped tight) at room temperature for several days.

10.Makes about 12 doughnuts

•1 cup canned pumpkin

•2 tablespoons honey

•2 tablespoons brown sugar lightly packed

•1 teaspoon vanilla extract

•1 large egg

•1/4 teaspoon salt

•1/2 teaspoon baking soda

•1/4 teaspoon baking powder

•1 teaspoon cinnamon

•1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

•1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice optional

•1 cup + 1 tablespoon oat flour oats that have been blended

•1/3 – 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

2.Spray a muffin tin with nonstick spray ( I use coconut spray )

3.Combine the pumpkin, honey, brown sugar, vanilla, and egg in a bowl. Beat until combined.

4.In another bowl, stir together the salt, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice and oat flour.

5.Add the dry to the wet mixing until just combined.

6.Stir in the chocolate chips.

7.Separate the mixture evenly among 8 muffin cavities and place a few extra chocolate chips on top if desired

8.Bake for 18-22 minutes

9.Don’t over cook, they are way better undercook.

2 tablespoons canned pumpkin
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice mix*
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
2 cups whole milk
1 to 2 shots Nespresso, about 1/4 cup
1.Heat the pumpkin and spices. In a small saucepan over medium heat, cook the pumpkin with the pumpkin pie spice and a generous helping of black pepper for about 2 minutes.

2.Stir in the sugar: Add the sugar and stir until the mixture looks like a bubbly thick syrup.

3.Warm the milk: Whisk in the milk and vanilla extract. Warm gently over medium heat, watching carefully to make sure it doesn’t boil over.

4.Blend the milk: Carefully process the milk mixture in a traditional blender ( don’t forget to cover the lid with towels, it might be hot )

5.Mix the drinks: Make the Nespresso  and add the frothed milk.

Hope you enjoy as much as I do when making those and of course, tasting them with my little family.

Can’t wait to read your favorite recipes.

one of a kind coffee collection

As a full time working mom of 3 very active boys, my weekly routine can be very busy and chaotique at times, especially during the Fall months. So when Friday comes, even as early as 5:30 am, I’m looking forward for some me-time that I can hopefully take during the weekend… Usually, the only time of the week that is possible, since weeks are reserved to work, blogging, attending events, kids homeworks, sports and activities, meaning not much time for me. This, let be honest really SHORT me-time is where I can relax, take care of myself and sometimes, if I’m lucky, take a bath with actually a warm coffee… Because everybody knows that having kids means that coffee is not always so hot when we got time to take a sip.

As you may already know, I am a huge coffee lover and need this caffeine in my daily life. Talking about coffee, I would love to share with you one of a kind coffee collection. Nespresso just launched two new editions: Ethiopia Yirgacheffe and Colombia Aguadasfrom the collection Explorations 2. The Colombia Aguadas is my favorite due to its delicate acidity, its candied apples and red berries sweet flavour and its velvety texture that I always find in my Nespresso coffees. I personally prefer it with a little bit foamed milk, similar to a cappuccino which makes the perfect comfy and warm drink during those crisp days of fall.

This time, Nespresso roamed the globe to uncover singular origins and scarves coffees which are considered as gems by coffee experts. I’m totally not a coffee expert, but I can tell you that I definitely taste the difference between these 2 contrasting tastes of Ethiopia Yirgacheffe and Colombia Aguadas.

These two new capsules are so easy and fast to make, just like Nespresso always is,  which definitely makes them a must in my life: everything needs to be easy and fast. When I use my Nespresso CitiZ & Milk machine in the morning, there’s a line up of little helpers waiting to press the button.

I highly recommend you trying them out! Ethiopia Yirgacheffe and Colombia Aguadas are offered for a limited time, in a duo set, at Nespresso stores and online at the link below:

Let me know what you think when you try it!

Good night
